I used to drink a fair amount of juices (thinking I was making a healthy choice), but found them all to have far too much sugar-- a high price to pay for the C vitamin enriched hydration benefit. Drinking plain old water is the best single hydration option, but can get boring fast if you are guzzling it all day long.
My solution has been to take ordinary filtered water with some crushed ice and add a tiny pour of R.W. Knudsen's fruit nectar. There's a large selection of flavors stocked at Whole Foods (I personally favor Yumberry and Mango). Add just enough nectar so the water takes on a bit of color and taste. If you're pouring the right amounts, each bottle will go a very long way.
This not only saves you a bunch of money on expensive organic juices (or other trendy drink options like Hint or Vitamin Water), it means less overall liquid calories and sugar- something that often goes unnoticed and adds up quickly in our diets. You can even save time on top of that by premixing a larger container and taking some to work or workout each day.
Enjoy.
very good idea. i do something similar, but not the same. is regular water, and squeeze a lime or orange on it, enough to give it taste plus vitamins; no sugar added tho.
